Igaz, Márton nap szerdán volt,de mi hétvégén ünnepeltük meg e jeles napot, amikor se munkába, se iskolába nem kellett menni.Ez alkalomból hímeztem ki ezt a kis libás párnácskát az ünnepelt számára , ami azóta Marci íróasztalán díszeleg. Tours-i Szent Márton a IV. század elején született Pannóniában.Életéből több legenda is fennmaradt.Emlékezzünk csak a koldusra, akivel egy hideg éjszakán találkozott és annyira megszánta , hogy saját köpenyét kettévágta és a felét a koldus vállára borította... Vagy ugye itt van ama bizonyos libák esete.Szent Mártont püspökké akarták választani, de a szerény Márton a legenda szerint a libák közé bújt el, hogy elkerülje a püspökké választását , de a azok gágogásukkal elárulták a rejtekhelyét. Innen ered az a szokás, hogy Márton napján libát illik enni....
Ezen a napon Marci kiskora óta bővelkedünk libában -lásd terítő, asztali dísz, most már hímzett párnácska is , de elárulok azonban egy nagy titkot....pszt... de nálunk a Márton napi liba az...."libakacsa"....a libahús valahogy nekünk nem jött be...Különben is , miért ne lehetett volna a libák közt pár kacsa is,nem...? A képen azonban látszik, hogy Marci tányérjára mégis csak került liba.... :D
Az ünnep fényét még ez az egyszerű, de nagyon finom torta is emelte...
In Hungary we celebrate not only the birthdays, but namedays, too. My son had his nameday on Wednesday (St.Martin's day) , but we decided to celebrate it at the weekend when there's no school and no work. I stitched a small goose for this occasion you can see in the first picture.
St. Martin of Tours was born in the IV century in Pannonia (now Hungary) and there are some very nice legend about him.Do you know the legend when he met a beggar? It was a cold night and he saw a beggar who had very bad cloths and St.Martin cut his own military cloak (he was a soldier...) in half and shared it with the beggar.
Then the other one with the geese? According to legend, Martin was reluctant to become bishop, so he hid in a stable filled with geese. The noise made by the geese betrayed him to the people who were looking for him. That's why the food traditionally eaten on the day is goose.
On this day we are plenty of geese ,too - just look at the table in the picture... but I reveal a very big secret , don"t tell anyone ,please. The goose we eat on St.Martin's day in reality is always a..... duck. We don't like goose..... I'm sorry.... and who knows ..... maybe among those geese of St.Martin there were some ducks, too ..... But look ! On my son's plate there was a goose, anyway... And I made a simple but delicious cake, too.

L'onomastico di mio figlio era mercoledí (giorno di San Martino di Tours),ma noi l'abbiamo festaggato alla fine della settimana quando non c'é né lavoro né scuola. Per questa bellissima occasione ho ricamato questo cuscinetto con la famosa oca ...
San Martino nacque nel IV secolo in Pannonia ( adesso Ungheria).Sono sicura che conoscete tutte
belle leggende di lui . Ricordate per esempio il caso con il mendicante ? Fu una notte fredda e San Martino incontró con un mendicante e il nostro bravo santo taglió in due il suo mantello per poter condividerlo con il mendicante.Oppure quella con le oche? Secondo la leggenda San Martino era riluttante a diventar vescovo per questo si nascose in una stalla di oche ma il rumore fatto dalle oche riveló il suo nascondiglio ed é per questo che il cibo tradizionale di questo giorno é l'oca.
In questo giorno anche noi usiamo tante oche , guardate la decorazione della tavola e ora anche il nuovo cuscinetto... Ma vi svelo un segreto, non dite a nessuno, per favore , ma l'oca del giorno di San Martino da noi é un' ......... anatra....... mi dispiace, ma non ci piace l'oca..... Ma communque, guardate , sul piatto di mio figlio c'era un'oca.....! e ho fatto anche una semplice ma deliziosa torta!
Marcinak is van ám hobbija ! Mégpedig a modellezés.Nagy szenvedéllyel rakosgatja össze a különböző modelleket már évek óta. A következő képen ebből láthattok egy nagyon kis bemutatót.Két évvel ezelőtt (most 13 éves) teljesen egyedül, a saját elképzelése alapján összerakott egy távirányítós kis hajócskát a régi , már nem használható távirányítós autója alkatrészeit felhasználva .És működött!!!!! Úszott előre-hátra, kanyarodott is. Mivel sem igazán jó alkatrészei sem pedig szerszámai nem voltak hozzá, csak pár napig volt működőképes sajnos.A hobbihoz szükséges szerszámok az évek során lassacskán gyülekeztek.Most a nagy vágyálma, hogy épít magának egy kis távirányítós repülőt. A férjemmel a névnapjára megleptük minden megfelelő alkatrésszel, alapanyaggal ami a vágyai repcsijéhez kell.Azt a boldogságot......!!! :D
My son has a hobby,too.He likes building airplane models. In the picture below you can see a very small part of his models.Two years ago (now he's 13) he made a small radiocontrol boat using the parts of his old and not working any more radiocontrol cars and it really worked!! And he used only his own imagination!! As the parts he was using were not as good and he didn't have the right instruments the boat worked only for a few days. His biggest dream now is to build a radio control airplane.He has already the good instruments for his hobby and for his nameday with our husband we bought him all the necessary parts for building his dream airplane model. You can't imagine his happiness,now!!! :D
Anche mio figlio ha un hobby - montare modellini di aerei.Sulla foto seguente potete vedere una piccola parte della sua collezione. Due anni fa (ora ha 13 anni) ha costruito una piccola nave radiocomandata usando i pezzi delle sue macchine radiocomandate vecchie e rotte. Ed ha funzionato!!!!! E lui ha usato solo la sua imaginazione per farla!!! Visto che i pezzi erano vecchi e non tanto buoni e non aveva neppure gli strumenti adatti la nave ha funzionato soltanto per alcuni giorni. D'allora in poi ha ricevuto molti strumenti necessari per questo suo hobby.Per il momento il suo grandissimo sogno é costruire un aereo radiocomandato.Per il suo onomastico con mio marito noi gli abbiamo regalato tutte le cose necessarie per far quel aereo di sogno...
Non potete immaginare la sua felicitá.......!!! :D
